Volaris starts first international route from Culiacan to Phoenix – News
Volaris Flights has come up with new service. Yes! Volaris Airlines starts one more international flight route from Culiacan. Volaris on 27 May began twice-weekly (Mondays and Fridays) flights between Culiacan (CUL) and Phoenix (PHX) using its A320s. The 1,059-kilometre route is not served by any other carrier except Volaris Flight from now. It is the LCC’s 6th route from Culiacan, but the first international route.
Volaris’ new twice-weekly service between Culiacan and Phoenix was celebrated at the US airport by: Phoenix City Councilman Michael Nowakowski; Director of Aviation Services Jim Bennett; and Council General of Mexico Roberto Rodriguez. The crew of the first flight were also on hand to savour some route launch cake (In the Pictures).
Volaris already serves Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport from Guadalajara with thrice-weekly flights. In total the carrier now operates 42 routes between Mexico and the US, involving 11 Mexican airports and 23 US airports. Volaris has been serving the US since June 2009 when it began flights between Toluca and Los Angeles, ironically a route it no longer serves.
